Description

► Day 1: At arrival, in the afternoon, our taxi will welcome you at the airport for a ride to your hotel.

Day 2 : This is the first day of your Explorer tour. Our guide meets you, with the vehicle, at your hotel after breakfast, at 9 am . This fantastic day begins with a visit to Fort Charlotte , the Black Caribs Museum and Heritage Hall . Then we take you for a scenic coastal drive alongside the Atlantic Ocean . The road passes through the Byera Tunnel, which was built to open up Carib lands to settlement. You will pass the spectacular Rabacca River filled with volcanic sand and stones. The river drains the eastern slopes of La Soufrière and Mount Brisbane . You will pass through Orange Hill's banana and coconut plantations. At the north-western tip of the island are the villages where the Carib settled following the wars. These villages are still home to a large number of Vincentians of Carib descent. In Sandy Bay , you will be welcome by some Carib Indians who will offer you to share, the time of your visit, their culture and traditions. You will learn what is arrowroot, how it is made and what it is used for. You will reach then, Owia Salt Pond. Here, the Atlantic Ocean cascades over lava peaks and ridges into a large bathing pool with a breathtaking view of the mountains in the background. Then off for a swim in the pond's crystalline waters. You will enjoy a typical Carib cuisine lunch. Return will be about 4 pm .

Day 3 : Your guide meets you at 9 am at your hotel after breakfast. Making our way to the Mesopotamia Valley , keep your camera ready for a perfect photo opportunity as we drive through small villages, banana and calaloo plantations. Scenic stops along the route with breathtaking views of the valley. The South Coast road offers spectacular ocean view passing up and through the villages of Glen, Calliaqua and Villa, where Fort Duvernette was built on a massive rock 195 feet above the sea level. Our guide will point out areas of interest along the way. Then on a scenic tour passing on the heights of the capital, Kingstown , we arrive to the oldest Botanical Garden in the western hemisphere. During the visit, you will admire the natural wonders of St Vincent , a descendant of one of the original breadfruit trees Captain Bligh brought and the rare St Vincent parrots : Amazona Guildingii. After a coastal drive up to Chateaubelair and a stop for lunch on our way, you will enter the tropical forest for a little walk which will take you on a bamboo bridge before to reach the unique site of Dark View Falls and its two waterfalls. There, you would have the choice between climbing to the upper fall if you wish to swim in a larger natural pond or to simply sit and enjoy a wonderful « shower » under the lower fall. You will return your hotel at about 4 pm .

Later in the evening, our taxi will meet you according to your flight departure to drop you off at the airport.
